About Mrs. Trottier:
I've always wanted to be a teacher...both of my parents were high school teachers, and I think it runs in the family! I received my bachelor's degree from Regis College where I earned dual degrees in both elementary education and graphic design/fine arts. I also have a Master's of Education degree from Framingham State College in Curriculum and Instructional Technology.
This will be my 19th year teaching in Arlington, but my 20th year teaching overall. At the start of my career, I ran a Before and After School program and a summer camp. I’ve taught kindergarten in Tewksbury, 2nd grade at Brackett, and 5th grade at Stratton…but most of my time has been spent teaching 3rd grade here at Stratton, which I absolutely love! I have a wonderful 3rd grade team here at Stratton, and couldn't ask for better colleagues than Mrs. Lees and Mrs. Meller!
Over the years, I have served as a math mentor teacher to all 1st and 2nd year third grade teachers in the district, I've been a member of the Stratton School Leadership Team and the Stratton Rebuild Committee, and was also the webmaster of the Stratton School website for 18 years. I am currently the district's grade 3 ELA mentor teacher and Literacy Leader. I enjoyed implementing all the new curriculum our team created with the help of Steven Levy in regards to project-based learning, and look forward to another year of trying new ideas!
When I am not at school, I spend the majority of my time with my daughter Sofia (who is entering 7th grade this year!), my husband Ben, and the rest of my family. We have a Boston Terrier (the Massachusetts State Dog!) Santino (we call him “Sonny”) who happily rules our household! I am sure your children will hear many stories about them!
